Living on Soul plot

Daptone Records is an independent record label from Brooklyn, founded in 2001, specializing in funk, gospel and soul. In December 2014, famous musicians from the Daptone stable gave a series of concerts at New York's legendary Apollo Theater, where Billie Holiday and James Brown, among others, once performed. The concert clips are interspersed with behind-the-scenes scenes and interviews with co-founder Gabriel Roth, as well as the performing artists, including Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones and Naomi Shelton.
