Light of the Setting Sun plot

Vicky Du goes in search of the story behind her parents' silence. Both come from families that fled communist China. They ended up in the United States via Taiwan. Fear is one of the main emotions that both the filmmaker and her brother remember from their childhood, when things were sometimes harsh and there was hardly any talking. In an attempt to understand her family history and thus her parents, Du interviews her family, digs into photo and video archives and travels to Taiwan to visit relatives.
