Liebe Oma, Guten Tag! plot

An intimate Lithuanian documentary about two sisters who search for information about their grandmother's life and past in the hope of breaking the taboos surrounding her person. They discover a past with a love story, that she was on the run, that there was a lot of discomfort about being German in a Soviet country like Lithuania and an accumulation of suicides within the family. Time to talk. Time to discuss what has been kept silent about all these years. In this overwhelming quest, the sisters not only learn about their grandmother, but also come to new insights about themselves.
