Le Marquis de Wavrin, du Manoir à la Jungle plot
The portrait of an ethnographer who has written an unforgettable chapter in Belgian film history. From 1913, the forgotten Belgian Marquis Robert de Wavrin undertook several trips alone to Indian tribes in the Amazon region (Venezuela, Peru, ...). His writings had faded into oblivion, his photos were unknown and the films he made there were partly mutilated. The directing duo digs into that history and ensures that it acquires fame. They recreate the life of this eccentric explorer who was not so much interested in the (pre-Columbian) past, but in how the Native Americans lived when he visited them.
