Five daughters tell the story of their father, as a symbol of Protestant Switzerland in the early twentieth century. He was first a farmer, then a factory worker and finally the head of a small family business where his daughters also went to work. The documentary is steeped in Max Weber's ideology, one of the founders of sociology.
