This film explores the life of artist Yayoi Kusama, who progressed from a conservative upbringing in Japan to a brush with fame in America in the 1960s. There, she rivaled Andy Warhol for press coverage. She eventually achieved international fame within the art world. Kusama is now over 80 and has spent the past thirty years in a psychiatric institution in Japan.
