This documentary is based on the successful German actor of the 1920s and 1930s, Kurt Gerron. Kurt was most successful in the United States and after his active film career he went behind the scenes in the film industry. But the once successful career came to an abrupt end. He was Jewish and did not escape the consequences of the Nazi doctrine.
