Knistern der Zeit - Christoph Schlingensief und Sein Operndorf In Burkina Faso plot
In 2011, the proposed project from 2009, 'Festspielhaus Afrika' by the theater maker Christoph Schlingensief, can finally become a reality, just before the initiator died after many years of cancer. Born near the capital of Burkina Fasso, this is the first village in Africa to live solely for cultural exchanges and art. The film follows the development phase of the project up to and including the current state of the opera village with its own school, playground, hospital, restaurant and guest houses. The result today is a 14-hectare estate, which is unique in its social and cultural mission, thanks to the striking personality of the artist, author and theater maker Christoph Schlingensief.
