King Naki and the Thundering Hooves plot

In the vast countryside of Transkei, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, King Naki tries to realize his dream. He is embodied by a horse, on which he has literally put all his money. Not by betting on it, but by buying it. His fellow villagers thought he was crazy. Thereupon King Naki named the horse Thula Sibone - "Wait and See". This character study - of a man, his horse and his environment - shows Thula Sibone being groomed for the legendary annual Amateur Championships, which are run on an open track with no fences or lines.
