Jozi Gold plot

A third of all the gold on Earth was once mined around Johannesburg, affectionately known as Jozi. Since the industry collapsed and the mines closed, the waste around the abandoned sites poses a huge health risk to local residents. 'Jozi Gold' follows the colorful Mariette Liefferink, an ex-Jehovah Witness with a new mission. She tirelessly reminds mining companies and local authorities of their responsibility for the population and the environment.
