John Ford Goes to War plot

When World War II broke out, John Ford was serving in the Naval Reserve in his forties. Bill Donavan, the director of what would soon become the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), made him head of the Field Photographic Unit. During the war, Field Photo made at least 87 documentaries, many with Ford's signature. He paid a lot of attention to heroism, loss and the point of view of the fighting soldiers and marines.
