It Came from Kuchar plot
"The day the Bronx invaded Hollywood."
The definitive documentary about the legendary underground filmmakers The Kuchar Brothers. George and Mike Kuchar have inspired two generations of filmmakers, actors, musicians and artists with their clownish no-budget films. Growing up in the Bronx in the 1950s, they copied countless Hollywood melodramas in their own way with their aunt's 8mm camera. Their early films influenced directors such as John Waters, Atom Egoyan and Wayne Wang. On display are many clips of the brothers' work, interviews with those they inspired and actors from their films. George has taught at the San Francisco Art Institute for nearly forty years and is known for his circus-like, Fellini-esque style of teaching.
