Invention plot
An anthology of the films of the eminent Canadian film artist Mark Lewis, filmed in Paris, São Paulo and Toronto. From the famous corners of the Louvre to the modernist buildings of Oscar Niemeyer in Brazil and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in Canada; Lewis always juxtaposes modernist architecture with composition in the paintings of the old masters. At the same time, he pays tribute to the filmed 'urban symphonies' of the 1920s. Apart from a musical introduction and conclusion, it is a series of soundless studies in form, composition, movement, perspective, light, depth, color and framing.
