Indonesia Calling: Joris Ivens in Australia plot

Joris Ivens made the 22-minute Indonesia Calling in Australia in 1946 and in doing so, in addition to providing fertile ground for Australian film culture, put a bomb under his relationship with the Dutch state. The year before, he had already resigned from his position as film commissioner for the Dutch East Indies because he could no longer reconcile himself with the Dutch colonial role.
