In the Shadow of War plot

"What happens when the guns fall silent?"

Even though the war in their native Bosnia and Herzegovina ended almost 20 years ago, there are many young people who still suffer the consequences of a struggle in which they themselves had no part. The film follows the lives of four teenagers, each in their own way trying to live with the traces the war left in the lives of their families. The father of seventeen-year-old Magdalena is severely traumatized. He went to war when he was seventeen and now takes his problems out on his daughter. Ilija does not know his father and was given up by his mother at birth. Elvis lost both parents. He injures himself and has tantrums that regularly bring him into contact with the police. Ante's father was guilty of war crimes and was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the ICTY.
