The story of the 'Liberty City Seven', a group of impoverished young black men from Miami who were accused of plotting with Al Qaeda to attack several buildings in the US. After a lengthy surveillance operation, the seven were arrested in the summer of 2006. The lawsuit dragged on for years. The seven were not Muslims, had no weapons and never had contact with Al Qaeda. The case is a painful example of the difficult transition the FBI went through after 9/11, shifting its focus from fighting crime to fighting terrorism.
