In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Jihad plot
The Syrian Bassam Ayachi has lived in Europe with his French wife since the 1960s: first in France, later in Brussels. The Muslim family is well integrated in Western society. When tensions mount in the Middle East and the rebellion against government leader Assad flares up in Syria, Abdelrahman's son decides to join a resistance group to defend the country in the name of Allah and chase Assad away. Filmmaker Stéphane Malterre closely follows the family during three intense years. He follows the jihadist in a number of actions, until he and a number of fellow combatants are killed during an attack. After his son's martyrdom, Bassam decides it's his turn to go to Syria.
