In het Spoor van Nichiren plot

Manouk van der Meulen follows in the footsteps of the Japanese widow Nichimyo, who made a dangerous journey to the island of Sado 700 years ago. There her Buddhist teacher Nichiren lived in exile, partly because of his revolutionary ideas about the equality of men and women. In the town of Kamakura, van der Meulen begins her search for the remains of Nichiren's ideas.
