Impulso plot
The Spanish flamenco dancer Rocío Molina spectacularly explores the boundaries of dance and the visual arts with avant-garde choreographies. She performs worldwide with her impulsos: partly improvised performances in special places, such as museums for modern art. In this biographical portrait, the camera follows her through the months of preparation for a new show at the Paris dance theater Chaillot.

From the moment she devoted herself completely to dancing, Rocío Molina was one who defied the alleged traditions of Flamenco. But after seeing this documentary, one thing is certain: she gives herself completely to her dance and her greatest admirers are her now very elderly idol La Chana. Rocío's joint performance with La Chana is an artistic and emotional highlight in this portrait of a passionate dancer who embraces the Flamenco tradition and modernizes it through improvisations (the 'impulses' to which the title refers). Belmonte followed Molina in the eight months leading up to a major show premiering at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris. Definitely not to be missed for dance lovers. And who wants more: see La Chana (2016).
