Im Bazar der Geschlechter plot
According to Shia tradition, in Iran it is possible to conclude a so-called temporary marriage, a mut'a that can last a minimum of one hour and a maximum of 99 years. This form of marriage takes place on an individual contractual and temporary basis and serves as the main reason for satisfying the pleasures of paid 'lust'. The film shows three examples of the implementation over time: a lonely bachelor who panics and thinks it is his last chance, a divorced lonely mother who does it for her basic needs and a very religious man. Their life stories all revolve around the time of marriage, which for the protagonists means the last way out of misery.
