This documentary is a tribute to director Yasujirô Ozu, on the 20th anniversary of his death. The film uses a combination of footage from vintage movies and new footage, both interviews and Ozu-related locations, shot by Ozu's longtime cameraman. The emphasis is not so much on Ozu's achievements as a filmmaker, but more on his impact on the lives of the people he worked with.
