In 2009 the toughest and longest running race in the world started: an average distance of 43 miles per day, 64 stages in total, with no days off, for a total of 2800 miles, from southern Italy to the North Cape in Norway. The nights were spent in gyms, nurseries and swimming pools on their own mats. There were no accompanying emergency teams and not a single street was closed during a race day. The expectations for this race were very high. After all, it is not only about physical fitness, but also about who can master this enormous challenge in his head.
