How to Build a Library plot

When the McMillan Memorial Library was built in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1931, the stately library was intended for white Europeans. In 2017, author Shiro Koinange and publisher Angela Wachuka were commissioned to restore this dilapidated library and two satellite libraries and adapt them to the contemporary needs of a more diverse audience. However, the task quickly became complex. For five years, the project followed the women and their efforts to transform the library into a creative hub for the entire Kenyan population.
