Homeland (Iraq Year Zero) plot
This documentary takes viewers through two years in the life of a family shortly before the fall of Saddam Hussein and the aftermath of the American invasion in 2003. The film is divided into two parts - before and after. We share the joys and fears of the Iraqi family who shows us how all families in the world have the same aspirations: to work, raise their children, laugh, love someone and get involved in their society... Abbas Fahdel also shows us that at the heart of the war among men, women, and children, there are exceptional everyday heroes: "people who are our fellow human beings and whom we abandon with a broken heart."
