'Oulad Lemzun' examines the current political turmoil in North Africa and the responsibility of the Western powers (particularly the United States and France) as a result of their application of 'realpolitik'; policies driven by economic or geostrategic motives rather than ethical or legal interests. These policies led to massive instability that eventually erupted into violence and chaos. The film focuses on Western Sahara, according to the UN the last African colony and a region on the brink of war.
