Het Einde van de Olijfboom? plot

The bacterium Xylella Fastidiosa, one of the most dangerous plant bacteria in the world, first appeared in the olive groves of Apulia, Italy. More than a million olive trees, often centuries-old, died due to the bacteria. 230,000 hectares were cleared as a precaution. 'Olive tree plague' became the name of the disease that causes the trees to become unable to absorb water, dry out and die. Italian filmmaker Stefano Cattini returns to where it all began, Apulia, southern Italy.
