Het Atelier: Portret van Hella plot

The portrait of grandmother Lientje, which hung prominently in the living room, made artist Hella de Jonge realize at an early age that there was great sadness behind it. No wonder that precisely that painting has become the starting point of a documentary about her remarkable creative resilience. During the lockdowns, Hella retreated to her studio to pick up an old love: painting. What had once gone wrong at the Rietveld Academy has blossomed in two years into its own style with personal stories.
