He Shang plot

China's rural civilization was defeated by the maritime civilizations, supported by modern sciences. They have been further challenged with the problem of life and death since the second half of the 19th century, round about by the 'Opium War'. Using the Yellow River analogy, China was placed at the forefront of civilization, but then the river dried up due to isolation and conservatism. Instead, China's revival must come from the flowing blue sea.
