Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd plot

Cultic icon, enigma, hermit… the life of Syd Barrett, co-founder of Pink Floyd, is full of unanswered questions. Until now. This music documentary combines his comet-like rise to pop stardom, his creative and destructive impulses, collapse, departure from the band and subsequent life alone, against the social context of the explosive 1960s.

Syd Barrett was a founding member of what would eventually become Pink Floyd and was the main creative force behind the band. But the writer of the early hits 'Arnold Layne' and 'See Emily Play' and of the vast majority of the debut album 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn', was kicked out of the band in 1968. Neither the band members nor the media heard from him again, leading to speculation about the background to his forced departure. This documentary neatly chronologically chronicles the life story of a man who immersed himself in experiments with drugs (particularly LSD), partly as a result of which he had brilliant creative excesses, but whose increasingly erratic behavior threatened the ambitions of his band members. Storm Thorgerson is the son of a childhood friend of the band, and managed to get many friends to paint the most objective possible picture of Garrett. Unfortunately, Rosemary Breen is the only family member who speaks and her contribution is too limited to gain insight into Syd's childhood. A well-researched, sincere documentary where knowledge of the (development of) Pink Floyd's music is an advantage.
