A portrait of Hollywood's most sought-after composer: Hans Zimmer. The documentary tells the story of the unconventional man behind the music everyone knows. German-born Hans Zimmer (1957) has been involved with music at a young age. As a teenager, Zimmer moves to England where he plays in various bands and increasingly composes for film and television. In 1988 he broke through in Hollywood with his compositions for the film Rain Man. It earns him his first of twelve Oscar nominations so far. In a journey through many fragments of the blockbusters he provided music, we become acquainted with Zimmer's work.
