Great Photo, Lovely Life plot

Bill Flickinger, a chiropractor by profession, left a devastating trail through both the lives of his young patients and that of his own family. His traumatized family remained silent about his sexual abuse and felt obliged by the Christian faith to forgive him. But what does forgiveness mean if the perpetrator is not even held responsible and the suffering caused to the victims is never mentioned? After the death of her grandmother, photojournalist Amanda Mustard decides to investigate the case.

Photojournalist Amanda Mustard confronts her elderly grandfather (and former chiropractor) Bill Flickinger with his pedophilia and wonders how it is possible that even after a 1975 conviction for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl, he never served time in prison. Bill acknowledges his 'stupidities', but Amanda is not satisfied with that. An uncomfortable documentary, but that is exactly the intention. The family deserves admiration for their willingness to discuss one of the greatest taboos on camera and clearly demonstrates the need for openness, especially within their own family.
