This was a big disappointment for me. I had been looking forward to this documentary since it was first announced. Last year I watched the entire series for a third time, but the documentary came just a little too late to connect directly to it.

Getting Lost managed to get almost all the prominent names of the cast and crew. Of course, there are some actors missing (Jack, Sayid, Sun and Charlie), but you can't blame the makers for that. Unfortunately, the gist of the documentary was not what I expected. Lost is about the characters, so it would have been nice to learn how the actors were cast and how they experienced the development of the characters. However, we are presented with a series of anecdotes that most Lost fans will know. I literally didn't hear anything new. In addition, in my opinion, too much attention is paid to specific fans, something that the Friends reunion also suffered from.

Nevertheless, it was great to see all the faces again 20 years later. I also found the reflection on the ending of Lost interesting. I will always defend the ending, but for many viewers this was the reason to see Lost as a failure. That remains a special fact.

A really fun documentary about the Lost phenomenon and its loyal fan base, which is still active. There are undoubtedly many familiar anecdotes, but I simply followed the series at the time and didn't know the background, gossip, and slander, so most of it was new to me. A lot of work went into it: we see lots of locations, actors, fans, and Lost paraphernalia. More negative aspects are also touched upon (misconduct, the alleged exploitation of the storylines). Sometimes you have to accept some exaggerated claims ("before Lost, there were hardly any series with a diverse cast," "Lost was the first series that didn't desexualize Asian male characters," "Lost is one of the few series with a female protagonist with a dark background," that kind of thing), but I still found it funny. Recommended!
