From Dust plot
This documentary follows two survivors and a rescuer for a year after the tsunami in Sri Lanka in 2004. One of the survivors is young Ravi, who lived in Galle, a small town on the coast. He has lost his father and his sister and now has to take care of the remaining relatives. When he tries to rebuild their house, he stumbles upon the government's rules that no more houses can be built 100 meters from the coast. Ravi and his neighbors have been promised new land where they can live. Now it's just a matter of waiting. Cyril saved his wife and child in the tsunami. However, he has lost his fishing boat and his house. He is also not allowed to rebuild his house by the government and he tries to keep his family alive by fishing a little, even without a boat. Cameron is an Australian aid worker who flew to Sri Lanka two weeks after the tsunami. He tries to help survivors rebuild their homes, but also encounters government measures not to rebuild houses on the coast. Cameron seriously questions the government's decisions.
