Forgotten Soldier plot

The young Dutchman Sally Noach (1909–1980) fled his hometown of Brussels in 1940 with the so-called 'Grande Exodus' just before the Nazis occupied the Low Countries. Sally went to Lyon – la Capitale de la Résistance – and played a heroic role in rescuing hundreds of Jews and non-Jews stranded in Lyon on their way to Spain or Switzerland. He later appeared in Lisbon and London and after the liberation led a quiet life in the Netherlands. Forty years after his death, daughter Lady Irene Hatter follows his tracks with countless questions, in search of the true story behind her father's war past. Why did he never want to talk about those years? What do the hundreds of letters from survivors say that he saved their lives?
