FilmeFobia plot

The only pure image is that of a human being confronted with his own fear. That is the premise with which director Jean-Claude made FilmeFobia. A project in which he lets people voluntarily expose themselves to their various phobias. 'Filmephobia' is presented as the making of this never completed documentary. Images of participants exposed to their greatest fears alternate with behind-the-scenes discussions between director and crew about the ethical issues raised by their method of filmmaking. Gradually, however, it becomes clear that the director is also struggling with his own demons: he has AIDS and is slowly but surely losing his sight.
