Feet Unbound plot

One of the largest troop movements in history was the 1934 withdrawal of the Chinese Red Army to the advancing Nationalists, which came to be known as the Long March. Several thousand women, often teenagers, took part in this myth-forming expedition. 'Feet Unbound' is their story. Six now very elderly women who witnessed the Long March tell not only about starvation and the constant enemy attacks, but also about the fact that those who had been captured (and often severely beaten) were later rejected by the Communist Party.
