Feathered Cocaine plot
Alan Parrot was the Shah's falconer. He owned the first white falcon on the Arabian Peninsula; oil sheikhs offered him millions for it. But what started as a rich Eastern tradition, turned - partly thanks to Parrot's enthusiasm - into a slaughter: the hunger of the sheiks turned out to be insatiable. Smugglers rob falcons from Russia and ship them to the United Arab Emirates for millions of dollars. If the falcon survives the journey, it will succumb to the heat within a month. Parrot has therefore been fighting the smugglers for 20 years. Feathered Cocaine finally turns into a thriller, including defaced witnesses and footage of the 9/11 Commission, when one of Parrot's sources reports another rare appearance. Osama Bin Laden, the world's most wanted terrorist and avid falconer, vacations in southern Iran every year. Parrot presents his findings to the American authorities, but they react less enthusiastically than he expected.
