Fatal Reaction: New York plot

The first part of a four-part series. The documentary is about single career women who fail to find a partner because of the fatal reaction of the opposite sex. A satirical look at the relationship between men and women in the 1990s with portraits about women's dilemmas. Fatal Reaction - New York begins in Amsterdam with a self-portrait of the director. Marijke Jongbloed places a personal ad to which men respond by telephone. In New York, 45-year-old Laura Slutsky is followed, successful casting director in Manhattan. Her daily confrontations with men produce a controversial image. Her humor keeps her going and her conversations with her psychiatrist are shockingly honest.
