False Confessions plot
"Would you confess to a crime you did not commit?"
Every year in the United States, countless people confess to crimes they never actually committed. Experts seek the explanation for this behavior in the interrogation techniques of the police, which exert enormous pressure on suspects to come to a confession. No other piece of evidence carries more weight than a confession; even when it was laid down under duress and wronged the truth. The Danish director Katrine Philp follows the American criminal lawyer Jane Fisher-Byrialsen, who has been dealing with this phenomenon for years.
