Erfenis van Liefde plot

In 2021, Renee Zielhorst unexpectedly lost her husband, Marijn. She was left behind with their young daughter and the wish to one day have a second child. Frozen embryos belonging to Renee and Marijn were still stored at Medisch Centrum Kinderwens. However, legally, she was not allowed to simply use them. Legislation and regulations stood in the way of her desire to have children, and the embryos were at risk of being destroyed. Renee decided to take the matter to court. This marked the beginning of a long legal battle.
