The American photographer Edward Weston (1888-1945) left an indelible mark on modern photography in the 1930s with his black and white photographs of nudes and still lifes. Edward Weston was already a celebrated photographer when, in the early 1930s, he fell in love with young Charis Wilson, a tall slender freckled beauty. Love for the female body was a dominant theme in Weston's work. He owed much of his fame to his minimalist yet sensual black and white nudes. Privately, women also played a major role in the photographer's life, mistresses came and went. The documentary tells the story of an artistic collaboration and of a special love affair. Charis Wilson, now over ninety, is extensively interviewed. The documentary also shows how Weston's young lover Charis inspired him to create his most beautiful nude photos.
