The protagonists of “El misterio de las lagunas, Fragmentos Andinos” are the so-called “Pueblos del Sur” or peoples of the South, they live in the region of the Venezuelan Andes south of Mérida, the capital of the region. Until recently, these mountain peoples lived very isolated. Access via four-wheel drive vehicles has recently brought "civilization" to these regions, which means that in the most accessible areas the old traditions are already gradually disappearing. The documentary penetrates deeply into the essence of this almost forgotten Venezuelan culture and heritage. And above all shows the music of violins and guitars from the Andes, which works as an oral tradition, keeping the memory alive.
