In the tent of a small circus, the audience – men, women and many children – is waiting expectantly to see what is happening in front of them in the ring of the arena. Seen from the outside, their silhouettes form a play of light and shadow, while the ringmaster makes them audibly warm for what is to come. When a clown act starts, the first faces are filmed.
