Dream Girls plot

The Takarazuka Revue has been a very successful Japanese theater project for 27 years, showing love in its most romantic, innocent and passionate form. It is remarkable that the male roles are also played by women. Sociologists explain the revue's success in the lack of romanticism in Japanese society, in which economic morality is predominant. Dream girls explores the hard life behind the scenes of the revue that only hires a few women a year. A strict disciplined training awaits them in which they are severely humiliated, among other things, because according to the owners (indeed: men) this is good for their character development.
