This Is Not Who I Am plot

Filmmaker Joris Koptod Nioky moves in with his mother Rian (71) to let her reflect on motherhood. They both have a different idea of who she was as a mother. While corona breaks out in the Netherlands, Rian talks about her childhood, her abusive father, the commune she founded in the 1970s with another couple and the complex family situation that resulted. Joris uses his film to confront Rian with the traumas of the past, which she does not recognize at all after seeing an interim montage.
