Die Ustica-Verschwörung plot

On June 27, 1980, a plane belonging to the Italian airline Itavia crashed into the sea near the island of Ustica north of Palermo. 81 people lost their lives in the disaster. There was an explosion on board, but was it the result of a technical defect or an attack? In 2008, former Italian Prime Minister Cossiga claimed the plane had been shot down by a French fighter jet. It is just one of the many conspiracy theories that have been sent out into the world in recent decades. The documentary goes in search of the truth behind the myth and ends up in the Europe of the Cold War.
