Die Lage plot

In September 2011, Pope Benedict XVI visits Germany. If the press is to be believed, the whole country is under the spell of 'Pope fever'. A stopover on the journey is Erfurt. The images Thomas Heise shows us of this visit are somehow not like the ones that were seen on all channels for days. Instead of beautiful virgin Catholic colors, we see cool white and black. And instead of the tired Pope we get: police, security, a nervous prime minister, snipers, medics and people of protocol. At Erfurt airport, all participants in costume, suit and uniform rehearse the meticulously planned grand entrance.
