After fourteen years of silence and flight, the Turkish-born Turk Mickael Suphi tells about his time as a torturer in the service of the Turkish army. 'The devil from Eskesehir' seeks an explanation for his actions in his youth, which are marked by bullying by family and peers. With Rambo as a great example, he fought his way through his adolescence to the Turkish army, away from his family, in the hope of a life of his own. His talent for languages, fanaticism and constructed hatred of Kurds landed him in a special unit: the counter-guerrillas. There he was trained as a torture specialist in ten days. Self-preservation always trumped his conscience in his work. His eventual escape marked the beginning of a life as a lone fugitive, until he decided to talk in hopes of making amends...
