The indifference about the world and the organisms we live with is troubling biologist Theunis Piersma. The documentary portrays the work and motivations of this inspired scientist, who in 2004 was awarded the Prince Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prize for Nature Conservation. This documentary follows Piersma during his fieldwork, and during his dialogue with policymakers to make them aware of his concern about the birds in the Wadden Sea.
