Every year, on the third Sunday of October, more than forty thousand people—young and old, men and women, white and black, rich and poor, heavy and light—run through the streets and along the roads of Amsterdam and its surroundings. The TSC Amsterdam Marathon is a mega-spectacle that moves between elite sport, popular festival, entertainment, and consumption. This film explores both the colossal, noisy, and multifaceted element and the individual, hyper-focused, and intimate element.
